Buttermilk is the most popular home made thirst quencher in India . It is a naturally soothing , healthy and is very easy to make . Ayurveda describes it as a drink fit for the Gods . When served in earthen clay cups the joy of drinking it surely doubles :-) While there are numerous ways to spice this drink up , it is most often made by adding a ground mixture of ginger and green chillies .
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Curd /Yogurt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 small green chilli
- 1/2 inch piece of Ginger
- 1 tsp Cilantro (chopped)
Method:
- Transfer all the above ingredients to blender and blend for 2-3 min
- Refrigerate for 2 hours
- Server cold , in earthen cups if you can
I love your hand painted clay cups. Nothing can beat cool buttermilk on a summer day! By the way in my state, we season it with mustard too, it's called 'chambaaram' in my home town.
